Structural Design

Our technical construction office undertakes to carry out structural design for newly built structures:

  • in accordance with the Eurocodes – EC, which are the standards for assessment and design of constructions of different materials against static stress, and which are applicable within the European Union and as per each country’s national laws,
  • in accordance with the Greek Anti-seismic Regulation (EAK) and the Greek Regulation of Reinforced Concrete (ΕΚΩΣ), which are applicable alongside the Eurocodes.

Our technical construction office furthermore undertakes to carry out structural design in the evaluation – integrity – reinforcement of existing structures:

in accordance with the Greek Intervention Regulation (ΚΑΝ.ΕΠΕ.), there is firstly an assessment of the existing structure based on an examination and documentation of the building elements (such as a survey of the elements in the concrete and the wall infill, detection of the position of existing equipment, laboratory checks and resistance trial of the existing concrete and steel). In continuation, the person in charge will select the level of deterioration of the structure in view of seismic pressure (Damage Limitation– DL, Significant Damage – SD, Near Collapse – NC).* Finally, we will either proceed to a static sufficiency estimate of the structure or, where there is a need to reinforce it, we will examine appropriate to each structure reinforcement methods (coating of poured or sprayed concrete, resins, fibre reinforced polymers FRP).
